RESEARCH INTERESTS

Three principal research themes

  • Study on memory T lymphocytes: identifying the cascade of molecular events required for memory T lymphocyte development and survival (project funded by the CIHR).
  • Role of memory T lymphocytes in autoimmune processes: examining the role of memory T lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diabetes (project funded by JDRF).
  • Study on the development of T lymphocytes in the thymus: determining the role of MAP kinases in thymic development of T lymphocytes (project funded by the NSERC).

For these studies, we are analyzing immune response and in vivo T lymphocyte development using transgenic and knockout mouse models.

The laboratory uses different molecular and cellular biology approaches such as cytometry, transgenesis and gene inactivation.
