RESEARCH INTERESTS

The general goals of my research are 1) the description of the frequency of eye diseases, 2) the examination of risk factors for eye diseases, 3) the search for novel treatments for eye diseases, and 4) to understand the physical, psychological, and social consequences of becoming afflicted with eye disease at an older age. 

CURRENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS

  • To examine the burden of vision loss in high, middle, and low income countries 
  • To examine the role of Ginkgo biloba on ocular blood flow in glaucoma patients.
  • To understand the impact of age-related macular degeneration on mobility and physical health.
