Internship in Molecular Mechanisms of Ubiquitination

Term:   full time

Project description:

Ubiquitination, a post-translational modification of proteins, play a crucial role in a number of cell processes. Our laboratory is interested in understanding how ubiquitination regulates DNA transcription and repair. We are also trying to determine how ubiquitination defects contribute to tumor development (please visit our web page).

There are currently two main projects under way:

1) Molecular and functional characterization of ubiquitinate BAP1 and elucidation of its role in tumorigenesis.

2) Characterizing the roles of the tumor suppressor genes, BRCA1, in cell response to mutagenic agents.

Prerequisite

  • B.Sc. in Biology Sciences or equivalent;
  • The student must be highly motivated.

Grant: the candidate will be paid according to the Centre’s salary range attributed to students.
